How to add and view attachments on a company or contact page
The Attachments tab gathers the files of a company or a contact (contracts, proposals, logos…) without leaving WorkOS. It's the tab with the paperclip icon.
It only appears if the person who manages the account has chosen the files property under Databases → CRM. If that property was deleted in Notion, you'll see a warning instead of the list.
Add a file
- Open the detail page and go to Attachments.
- Drag the file onto the area that says Drag a file here or click to upload, or click it to choose the file.
- Wait for the upload to finish.
Images, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Markdown and ZIP files are accepted. If a file name is very long (over 100 characters), it's shortened automatically, keeping the extension.
Download, rename and remove
- Click the file name to download it.
- Rename file lets you change its name.
- Remove file deletes it. It will ask you to confirm, and it also disappears from Notion.
Inherited attachments
Below yours, the attachments of related records appear as read-only, with a label showing where they come from:
- On a company: those of its projects (Linked to a project) and those of its contacts (Linked to a contact).
- On a contact: those of its projects.
To change or remove an inherited attachment, do it on the detail page of the record it belongs to. If there are a great many, you'll see a notice that only the first ones are shown.
Use Reload attachments to refresh the list.
From Inbox
Files that reach you by email or messaging can be sent to this tab with a button, without downloading and uploading them again. If you have Google Drive connected, they're also saved to its folder. This is covered in the article "How to move emails and attachments to a project or a detail page".
