What to attach to a publication and what isn't published
In a publication there are files that get published and files that only serve as reference material. Don't mix them up.
Two kinds of file, two destinations
- Media attachment — published along with the post: an image, a video or a PDF (shown as a carousel).
- Research PDF, and the files in the Research tab — these are only for the AI to draft the post from. They are never published.
What each network needs
- Social networks in general: a valid attachment is required (image, document or video). Without it nothing is sent: you'll get a comment on the publication's page explaining what's missing, and as soon as you add it the sending resumes on its own.
- TikTok and YouTube: the attachment has to be an MP4 video. An image or a PDF is discarded.
- A document (PDF, PPT or DOC) as a carousel: it needs an Attachment title, which is shown on LinkedIn instead of the file's real name. This field only appears if your administrator has set it up.
- Newsletter: it doesn't take a media attachment. It only accepts the research PDF when you choose What it should be about.
Adding, changing or removing the attachment
- When creating the publication, click Attach file in the Media attachment field.
- Afterwards, open the publication and, in the Post tab, use Attach file or Replace file. You can also remove it.
You can only change the attachment while the publication isn't Completed. The exception is Web articles: since they aren't published by themselves, you can change the image and export the article again with the new file.
Research files
In the Research tab you write, with formatting, what the AI should take into account, and you can add reference files (for example, a PDF). Click Save research to keep your changes. If you type @, you can link a note, a document, a wiki article, a project, a company or a contact: the AI will read their content too.
Tip: if your publication goes to LinkedIn with a PDF, give it a clear Attachment title: it's what your audience will see above the carousel.
