What "My tasks", "Where I participate" and "From others" mean

If you open Tasks, Projects or Agenda, you'll always see a similar filter above the list. It's called scope, and it means the same thing in all three sections — worth understanding once.

The scopes

• My tasks (or "My projects" / "My meetings") — only what's assigned to you as the assignee.
• Where I participate — besides your own, anything that has someone else as assignee but has you as a participant or collaborator. It only shows up if your account has that relationship configured in Notion — if you don't see it, ask whoever administers your account.
• From others — everything from the rest of the team, unfiltered by assignee. This tab is only visible to the account administrator (the Owner); other people don't have it available.

A fourth scope: "My team"

If your account uses Supervisor roles (see the article on user roles), and you have that role, you'll also see a "My team" tab: it shows the tasks and documents of the people who report directly to you.

Why you might not see a tab

• "Where I participate" doesn't appear if the administrator hasn't configured the participants relationship in Notion for that database — it's not a bug, it's just not turned on.
• "From others" is only visible to the account Owner.
• "My team" is only visible to someone with the Supervisor role who has direct reports assigned.

A tip

These same scopes also govern what you see in the global search and in some widgets on the Home screen. If you search for something and it doesn't show up, check first whether it's in a scope you don't have access to (for example, a colleague's task you're not involved in).
