Help & support: ask WorkOS from inside the app
The Help & support button opens a chat from any WorkOS screen. Use it to ask anything without leaving what you're doing.
Where it is
- On a computer, at the bottom of the side menu, with the question-mark icon.
- On a phone, inside the user menu (the circle at the top right).
How it works
- Type your question and press Enter (Shift + Enter adds a line break).
- An assistant answers first, based on the Help Center articles. Below its answer you'll see the articles it used, in case you want to read them in full.
- If the assistant can't solve it, or you press the Human help button, the conversation moves to a member of the WorkOS team. The assistant stops answering and that person replies in the same chat.
When the person marks the conversation as resolved, they tell you in the chat itself and the assistant takes over again: you can keep asking without waiting for anyone.
The conversation is continuous: when you reopen the chat, everything from before is there.
Clearing the chat
The broom button at the top empties the conversation and takes you back to the assistant. If you were talking to a team member, the conversation is closed as resolved. Clearing only empties your view: the team keeps the history until it is deleted automatically (see Privacy).
Reply notifications
- When the team replies, a red circle appears on the help button (and on your user circle on a phone) with the number of unread messages. It goes away when you open the chat.
- If you don't have WorkOS open at that moment, you also get an email with the reply.
Help Center
Inside the chat there's a Help Center link that opens the full guide with all the articles in another tab.
Privacy
- Your messages are read by the assistant and by the WorkOS support team. To let the assistant answer, only the conversation and the public help articles are sent to it: no data from your workspace is sent.
- Don't share passwords or access codes in the chat.
- Conversations are automatically deleted after 12 months without activity.
