Connect Fathom to import your recorded meetings
If you record your meetings with Fathom, WorkOS can bring them into Agenda → Meetings without you copying anything by hand. Each meeting is saved as a regular meeting record with the Fathom summary inside, and you will recognize it by the Fathom tag in the list.
What you need
- Agenda turned on for your account.
- Someone with the right permissions has chosen the Meetings database in Settings → Databases. If the date, owner and participants properties are also linked, meetings will arrive with those fields filled in.
- A Fathom API key. You generate it yourself in Fathom, in your user settings (API access section).
How to connect
- Go to Settings → Integrations and find the Fathom card.
- Paste your API key, confirm the email of your Fathom account (WorkOS suggests yours) and click Save and connect.
- WorkOS checks the key and starts the first sync, which brings in the meetings of the last 30 days. They can take a few minutes to show up in Agenda.
This is a personal connection: each person connects their own key, and only the meetings you recorded yourself are imported, that is, those made with the email you provide. The ones other people share with you in Fathom are not copied. Imported meetings are copied to the Meetings database in your company Notion.
What happens next
- When Fathom finishes the summary of a new meeting, it appears in Agenda within a few minutes. If your Fathom plan does not allow automatic notifications, WorkOS still picks it up every few minutes.
- If a meeting has just ended and Fathom has not generated the summary yet, WorkOS waits and imports it later.
- You can click Sync now on the card at any time. You will also see the date of the last sync and any error.
What the meeting record contains
- The link to open the recording in Fathom and the share link.
- The attendees.
- The Fathom summary and action items. Fathom always delivers them in English, so WorkOS translates them with AI into your account language. If the translation fails, the original English text is saved.
- When translated, the original text is kept in a collapsible block at the end of the Notion page (it does not appear in the Summary tab in WorkOS).
The full transcript is not imported.
Who can see it
The meeting follows the usual Agenda rules: its owner and its participants can see it. The owner is whoever recorded the meeting, if they have a Team record with the same email; otherwise, the person who connected the key. Attendees who have a Team record are added as participants.
Tasks
WorkOS does not create tasks on its own from Fathom action items. If you want tasks to be generated, use the usual Agenda flow by changing the meeting status to the value that triggers it (see How tasks are created automatically from a meeting).
Disconnect
Click Disconnect on the card. Meetings that were already imported stay in Agenda and in Notion; it just stops bringing in new ones.
Common problems
- Notice “first choose the Meetings database”: it still has to be chosen in Databases. Ask whoever manages the account.
- Simulation mode notice: your account is still in test mode and no meeting is created until an administrator turns it off.
- “Fathom did not accept that key” or the connection shows as disconnected: the key is wrong or you revoked it in Fathom. Generate a new one and connect again.
- A meeting does not appear: check that you recorded it yourself with the email shown on the card (we do not import meetings that were only shared with you), that it already has a summary and that a few minutes have passed. If your user is not in Team with the same email you record with, the meeting may end up with no owner and nobody can see it; tell whoever manages the account.
