How to create an event on your calendar, by hand or by voice

The events you create in WorkOS are saved directly in your Google Calendar (or your Outlook, if your account has it enabled), so you'll see them in those apps too. To create them you need your calendar connected (see the article "How to connect your email and your calendar").

Where the button is

In the Agenda section, inside the My calendar or Events tabs, click New event. It doesn't appear in the Meetings tab. In the calendar you can also click the + of a specific day to create the event already on that date.

When you click the button, choose how:

  • Manual — a quick form.
  • By voice — it only appears if you have set a voice word for one of your calendars, in Settings → Integrations, section Calendars for this account. You dictate the event saying that word, and before creating it Kairos shows you the "Review the event" screen where you can confirm it or edit it.

Creating an event manually

  1. Write the Title.
  2. Choose the Date.
  3. Enter the Start time and the End time. When you pick the start time, the end time fills in by itself one hour later, and you can change it if you want a different length.
  4. Choose the Calendar. Only calendars where you have permission to write are listed; read-only ones don't show up.
  5. If you want, add Guests with Add guest: they are searched in your CRM by name or email and receive the invitation by email. This section only appears if your account has the CRM set up, and the contact must have an email.
  6. Tick Add video call if you want a Google Meet link (Google calendars) or a Teams link (Outlook calendars).
  7. Click Create event.

Common problems

  • "Enter a date and time." — the date or one of the two times is missing.
  • "The end time must be after the start time." — fix the end time.
  • There are no calendars to choose from — turn on a calendar that isn't read-only in Settings → Integrations, in the Calendars for this account section of your email account.

Tip: once created, you can change the day, the time or the title from the event's detail page, and delete it if needed.
