How to create a note in the Digital Garden, by hand or by voice

There are two ways to start a note in the Digital Garden: typing it yourself or dictating it. In both cases you start from the same button.

The "New note" button

At the top right, in the Digital Garden section, click New note. A small menu opens with two options: By voice and Manual.

Manual

1. Choose Manual. The New note dialog opens.
2. Write the Title (the hint question is "What do you want to write about?").
3. If your account has it set up, you can choose a Status and one or more Topics with Add topic. Topics are searched among the ones that already exist.
4. Click Create note.

You'll see the message "Note created" and the note appears in the list. Open it and click Edit to write its content with the editor.

By voice

1. Choose By voice. The Kairos recorder opens already on the Note category.
2. Dictate whatever you want to keep.
3. Kairos turns your dictation into a well-written note, with a title and formatting (paragraphs, lists, bold text and headings). If your account uses Topics, it also picks the ones that fit best among those you already have.

It is the fastest way to save an idea without stopping to write it.

Adding information to a note that already exists

With a note open, click Add information. The recorder opens and what you dictate is written up and added to the end of that same note, separated by a line, without touching what it already had. You'll see the message "Information added to the note". This button doesn't appear if you can only view the note but not edit it.

Asking Kairos

In Agent Mode you can also write or tell Kairos to create a note. Before creating it, it shows you a card with what it proposes, which you have to confirm.

Tip: if you're creating a note "on the go", use By voice; if you already know how you want to organize it from the start (with a Topic and a Status), use Manual.
