If a document was shared with you from WorkOS: how to sign in

Someone has sent you a link to a document: a proposal, a contract, a report... You don't have to create an account or remember a password. You sign in with your email and a code that arrives by email.

How to sign in, step by step

  1. Open the link you were sent. You'll see a Secure access screen, with the company's logo if it has one.
  2. Type your email and click Send code. Use the same address where you received the link.
  3. You'll get an email with the subject "Your access code" and a 6-digit code.
  4. Type it into Access code and click Access the document.

If you prefer another language, the selector is at the top: Español, English and Polski.

How long the code lasts

  • The code is valid for 10 minutes and can only be used once.
  • You have 5 attempts. If you get it wrong too many times, you'll see "Too many attempts" and you'll need to request a new code.
  • Once you're in, your access stays open for up to 24 hours. During that time you can open any other document that has been shared with you without requesting another code.
  • After 24 hours, if you click Log out or if you close your browser, you may need to request a new code.

If the code doesn't arrive

  • Wait a couple of minutes and check your spam or promotions folder.
  • Check that you typed your email correctly and that it's the same one where you received the link.
  • For security, the screen always says the same thing, whether you have access or not: "If the link is valid, we've sent a code to that email." That's why it can't warn you if something goes wrong.
  • To request another code, click Use another email and start again. If you request many codes in a row, the system stops sending them for a few minutes.
  • If it still doesn't arrive, write to the person who sent you the document. Only they can check that your email is registered to have access.

Messages you may see

  • "The code has expired, request a new one": more than 10 minutes have passed.
  • "You no longer have access. Contact the team": your permission for that document has been removed.
