What the Digital Garden is and how it is organized by Topics

The Digital Garden is your personal knowledge base: notes you keep so you don't repeat yourself, to think things through in writing, or to have your day-to-day ideas and learnings on hand.

How it is organized

Every note has one or more Topics (and, if it touches several, a Main topic). There are no folders — the list itself groups your notes by Topic, with the most recent and your favorites first.

Creating a note

• By voice — you dictate it and AI writes it up with formatting.
• By typing — you enter the title and then the content with the editor.
• By importing a file — you upload a PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Markdown file (or point to a Google Drive folder) and AI turns each file into a note, with title, icon and topics already assigned. It's processed in the background, so you can keep working meanwhile.

Who can see a note

If your account uses Team privacy, a new note is visible only to whoever creates it. To let other people see it you have two options, which can be combined:

• Mark it as Shared — everyone in your account can see it.
• Explicitly choose which people can see it, in the Team field (Add member button).

If your account doesn't use Team privacy, all notes are visible to the whole team.

Favorite notes

Marking a note as Favorite doesn't change who can see it. It's a mark on the note itself, not a personal one: anyone who can see the note will see it as a favorite, and favorites come first in the list.

The editor

The same rich-text editor used by Documents and Wiki: headings, bold/italic, lists (including nested ones), quotes, tables, columns, images (with an enlarged view on click), and mentions by typing @ to link to another note, document, wiki article, task, project or contact.

Files and Google Drive

Every note has its own Files tab for attaching documents. If your account connects Google Drive, each note also has its own folder there (organized by Topic), where its attachments are saved automatically.
