What "Kairos in Claude or ChatGPT" is and what it's for
Kairos is WorkOS's artificial intelligence assistant. With Kairos in Claude or ChatGPT you bring that same access to your data into the AI app you already use: you ask for something in a Claude or ChatGPT conversation, and that AI views or updates your WorkOS for you.
What it's for
Working with WorkOS without leaving your conversation with the AI. For example, you can ask it:
- "What tasks do I have pending this week?"
- "Find my notes on this topic and give me a summary."
- "Create a task to call this client on Thursday."
- "Read this project's document and draft me an email with the key points."
How it works
You connect WorkOS to Claude or ChatGPT once, through a custom connector. When you do, you sign in with your WorkOS email and authorize access. From then on, the AI can use your data, always with your same permissions: it never sees more than you would.
The conversation lives in Claude or ChatGPT, not in WorkOS. That's why it doesn't show up in the Kairos Agent mode sessions inside WorkOS.
What you need
- A Claude account (on Claude.ai or Claude Desktop) or a ChatGPT account with developer mode turned on.
- Your email having an account in WorkOS.
You don't need to be the Owner: each person connects their own account, with their own access.
And inside WorkOS
Kairos is still available inside the app, as explained in the article "What Kairos is and the difference between Process Mode and Agent Mode". The connector is an additional way to use the same kind of actions from outside.
Tip: to connect it step by step, see the article "How to connect Kairos to Claude or ChatGPT".
