What a Notion database is and which WorkOS section uses which

Your data lives in your own Notion: WorkOS reads and writes it there. Each section of the app relies on a Notion database, which is a table where every row is a page with its properties (title, date, status...).

Which database each section uses

  • Tasks and Projects: your tasks and your projects.
  • Digital Garden: your notes.
  • Posts: where you plan what you publish.
  • Agenda: your meetings.
  • Inbox: where your emails and messages are captured. It comes with CRM (contacts) and, if you want, Email types.
  • CRM (companies): your companies.
  • Documents and Wiki.
  • Team: the list of people in your account, used to assign owners, mention people and decide who sees what.
  • Optional: Time tracking and Topics (the Digital Garden's tags).

You choose it only once

The configuration is shared by the whole account: you pick the database for each thing once and every section reuses it. You only see the cards for the sections your account has turned on; the Team card always appears.

Where it's configured and who can do it

In Settings → Notion databases. Only someone marked as a Technical contact sees that entry: being the Owner isn't enough. If you need it, ask the Owner to mark you as a Technical contact in Team.

If your Notion isn't connected yet, the screen tells you to connect it first in Integrations. And if on your account the Notion connection is managed by a platform administrator, this screen is also out of your reach.

Required and optional

Cards marked (optional) can be left without a database (— Do not use —): that feature simply isn't used. The rest are needed for their section to work.

Tip: what you change here affects the whole account, so it's best if one trusted person handles it. The card titles on this screen appear in Spanish (Tareas, Proyectos, Notas, Reuniones...) whatever language you use.
