How to use WorkOS on your phone and add it to your home screen

WorkOS works from your phone's browser, with nothing to install from an app store. The screen adapts to your phone and everything essential is still there.

What changes on a phone

The section menu becomes the icon bar at the bottom. If your account has more than five sections, the bar scrolls sideways.
At the top you have the search magnifying glass, the Settings button and the user icon. When you open a detail view (a task, a project, an email…), an arrow appears to go back to the list.
Calendars are shown as a day-by-day list, which is more comfortable on small screens.
The round red Kairos button floats just above the bottom bar.

WorkOS is designed to be used in portrait. If you rotate your phone, you'll see the message "Rotate your phone to portrait to keep using the app." until you turn it back.

Adding WorkOS to your home screen

This way you open WorkOS with one tap, full screen and without the browser bars. The exact steps depend on your browser and its version, but they are usually these:

Open WorkOS in your phone's browser.
On iPhone (Safari): tap the share button and choose Add to Home Screen.
On Android (Chrome): open the browser menu and choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
Confirm the name ("WorkOS") and tap Add.

WorkOS needs an internet connection to work, both in the browser and from the icon. You may have to sign in again with your code inside the icon, because it works as a separate app from the browser.

Recording by voice

The first time you use Kairos with the microphone, your phone will ask for permission. If you denied it by mistake, you'll see "No access to the microphone. Grant permission and try again.": turn it on in your browser's settings for WorkOS.

Tip: on a phone, recording a task by voice is usually faster than typing it. Try it with New task → By voice from the Tasks section.
