Visibility, favorites and skills in the Wiki

From an article you can decide who sees it, highlight it and mark it as a skill for Kairos.

Who can see an article

Next to the title there is a label showing the state:

  • Shared: the whole team sees it. Click the label to turn Shared on or off.
  • Restricted: only the people under Members see it.
  • Not restricted: it isn't shared and has no Members. In that case, the rest of the team doesn't see it, as long as your Wiki uses Shared and Members.

Members are managed in the Settings tab, with Add member. They only appear if your account uses Team.

There are two rules so an article never ends up with nobody: you can't remove the last Member if the article isn't Shared, nor turn off Shared if it doesn't have at least one Member. A new article starts out visible to you.

If your Wiki has an Owner set up, only the Owner and the Members can edit it. Everyone else sees it read-only, with a notice.

Favorites

The favorite button in the article header (Mark as favorite or Remove from favorites) highlights it. It's a mark on the article itself, not a personal one: everyone who can see the article sees it. In the list, its card is highlighted in amber.

Skills for Kairos

A Skill is an article that explains how to do something, step by step. You mark it with the Skill checkbox, in the Settings tab. It only appears if your administrator has set up that property.

  • In the list, the article shows a badge and its card is highlighted in green. If it's also a favorite, it shows in green.
  • When you cite a Skill in Kairos, it doesn't treat it as simple information: it follows it as a procedure. You can cite it by typing @ or with the Cite pages as context (optional) button when recording by voice.
  • When you open the citation search without typing anything, Kairos suggests the Recommended Skills.

Tip: write the skill in numbered steps with clear instructions. Kairos will follow what it says, so be clear.
